OCTOBER 2020
ITS BEEN A WHILE, some serious change in the wind
thiis is the last year that ill be doing business smaller than 1200 minimum per show
there is too much work to be done to waiste time dealing with the same dramatical people expecting a productive outcome
WOW HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED, A GLOBAL PANDEMIC HAS ALTERED THE VALUE IN LIVE ENTERTAINMENT FOREVER AS THE THOUGHT OF LIVE CROWDS NOW BECOME SCARY. BUT WE HAVE THE SAME SHITTY MENTALITY WHEN IT COMES TO BUSINESS? RECENTLY APPROACHED BY BOOKERS WITH SOME SNIPPY NO FRIL'S ATTITUDE ISSUES SEEMINGLY OUT OF NOWHERE. THE RAT RACE FOR ATTENTION SEEMINGLY COMES TO A HEAD AS SOON AS YOU INTERACT WITH SOMEONE DEAD SET ON MAKING YOU BENEATH THEM
I WILL NOT ever entertain conflict for dramatical gain of anyone nor do idle threats and barbaric mentality do anything but make me go that much harder.
due to this unfortunate frame of mind i see no productivity with booking small events that lead to nothing but booking more small events. the point of media coverage is to grow as a brand and business. so starting in 2021 i will no longer be booking state events without contractual obligation or prepaid comission for the service.

be smart enough to realize most negativity thrown at you has nothing to do with you. people need a scape goat
TAKES a mighty mentality to attempt juggling both a relationship, parenthood, running a family, and being in this industry. nobody has sacrificed or taken more of a mental beat down then a single dad failing to make his spouse happy. theres countless examples of relationships FAILING to work due to one persons need to be ore important than the other i just find it rather bullshit that females automatically resort to bashing a man for following ambition over inferior obedience to a female. i am not sexist in the slightest as my mentor and first business teacher is my mother and sister has been there in countless ways. but to see from the perspective of the other and still make no sense of things is horrid. stay the course young rhymers. no matter your art , your craft is your lifeline. when you live inside your passion everything else seems to easily flow together.

focus on your goal regardless of whats being spoken around you, its not their dream its yours
hearing all kinds of music and being able to see the benchmark alot of times that gets passed up by artist its funny to me how much actual value is put into the things spoken by people of no relevance. now i know the first thing people will think reading this is that im bein ego based n thats not the case just hear me out. being relevant to me and my endeavors means you have a definitive value of any kind, something about my company substantially changes with our absence, if this isnt the case im curious as to why people suddenly get the idea telling me how to do my job from their perspective should be the primary focus of my attention.
just make sure you know the real intention of people in your "crew" the "why" is the flashlight on a dark path.

facing hot blooded situations as an emcee means maintaining cooler heads and strategically organizing the way that you present yourself! making more fuel for drama cant do anything positive with your outcome, sharing information to others only worsens that. the word "disrespect" as far as musical endeavors go is purely fuel to make someone feel less important in their intent. this is why i hate dealing with "managers" and "bookers" to add people to a show means you have to gain their interest, most of the time theyll fight ruthlessly to prevent having to pay for actual services that generate real money and results! this whole diy generation is killing the industry
this agency is build to thward that stuff, providing resources and abilities to developing brands of all types. being able to work independently on building your brand without distractions and hinderances of all kinds, i have a much better chance at getting work done when most dont even know where i work.

BELIEVE IN YOUR CRAFT, NURTURE IT LIKE YOUR FAMILY NURTURED YOU. There are no short cuts to success, no way to pay for the type of coverage being relevant and skilled can get you. Too many times there is an emcee or artist of some sort bitter because they feel undervalued in a business FULL of various undervalued people. The perception is wrong, Each persons basis of understanding themselves creatively is a different story chapter in a book called entertainment.
Believe that your craft will take you places if its properly practiced and respected as a business and not just your way of having fun. This is life and death to some , no matter what the situation you can find strength in your craft if you live inside of what you love rather than being mad at people for not being the exact same as you are.
Take control of your life and your ability to make music, art, beats, whatever you do. Teach yourself to sacrifice things and behaviors that keep you from accomplishing your goals. A lot of people attempt to relate to what your going through in hard times but they really cant, nobody is responsible for the cultivation of your talents more so than you are. Going to school, having a job, maintaining your practices is not a hinderance on your life IT’S THE FOUNDATION OF WHAT YOU WANT TO BUILD. If followed and worked non stop you can thrive above and beyond the type of styles that people expect.
Each of the entries into my blog are thoughts on a very long fought journey of business prominence in the city I love. Great to be writing again and I hope anyone reading can draw the same inspiration from my life that I have fought to find inside myself.

-dec. 26th 2019-thoughts on proffesionalism
PROFFESIONALISM WILL GO A LOT FURTHER THAN YOU THINK Make all your appointments. Never show up late, always come dressed professional and stay ready to learn and prepared…..All great bullet points of how to attain and to keep your dream job…..however for some reason being in the music industry permits our commodity acts to spend the majority of their time demanding over priced rider amenities, get blasted beyond comprehension, and break basic laws to entertain themselves showing little or no remorse to the businesses that support them.
BARS MAKE THEIR MONEY SELLING LIQUOR. no amount of clout or social media buzz can change the fact restaurants and bar’s don’t care about entertainment they care about making money. Trying to convince a bar owner to book you must be done by understanding what exactly the bar is wanting and making sure your idea of what to do fits into what their asking from you.
90% of the time I approach venues about doing an event of some kind, I fully expect they dislike my work and genre. Yes I am speaking facts! VENUES GENERALLY DON’T LIKE YOU, their their to make a living not to be your friend, remember that! The facility your in don’t have to like you or enjoy your art in any way shape or form in order for you to make money and help them to make money. Force feeding your art never helps, may feel like your underrated split second but that just means your unknown. You cant FORCE people to give you a shot, you can only add value and become WORTHY of the shot they give. No matter what, regardless of who or why. I am in the position I am in from MY WORK and the endorsement of those gracious and helpful enough to put me in a learning status of winning positions. I took those chances to build and did just that! Anything short is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Shortcuts are just that SHORT of where your trying to go.
I’ve always found the causality of entertainment to be the most ignored fact of all, ask yourself as an entertainer LITERALLY what do clubs or venue’s gain by my presence in the place? Or performing? Often it’s a hunt for attention rather than valid purposes to do business. When you understand and agree with people’s real intent, then business deals can be achieved and mutually beneficial situations can be attempted!

dec 23rd 2019 -- D.OING I.T Y.OURSELF
The 90’s had a different appreciation for the “studio experience” then these days. To make a record and make it properly took some serious bread, you went to an entire building dedicated to recording your music and properly mixing and mastering it. Now a days any pinhead with a laptop and a basic engineering program is turning “studio” time into a daily ritual. Well, in the words of my first employer ….you get what you pay for.
There’s something to be said about going to professionals in order to record your music since you simply make music and not produce. Producers main priority is to ensure your music (the beat) sounds perfect ,Engineers record and mix it. Without both, the full experience I don’t believe means the same as it does with today’s widely known and utilized D.I.Y. way of doing things. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up in the industry as D.I.Y. everything, but not once did I expect it to ever fully be facilitating the best quality product for my followers, which is ultimately the goal.
Press up the quality product by saving your money or investing in a quality education for marketing and distribution, Prove that your passion can be backed with skills and knowledge to turn your life’s goal’s into a legitimate income. This blog is to give insight as to the advice I would give to you as an artist, to lead yourself into a great and productive direction. Doing it yourself is good, but nothing is greater than the accomplishment of bringing a quality team around your art and helping it to reach heights you never thought possible. If you cant find one, build one. #innovate
This is my last blog post of 2019, next up for me is hard rock cafe on dec 27th here in seattle then high dive next month. Such a great productive work year coming to a close i look forward to warm fires and fun time with my wife and daughters. without family we have nothing. merry Christmas to all

DEC 20TH 2019--THE INDUSTRY IS CHANGING SO LEARN HOW TO CHANGE WITH IT
When I was a kid, a lot of the music we hear as “OLD SCHOOL” these days was a way of life. You could guess on one hand what everyone is bumping in their ears. People weren’t having neck issues from looking down at handheld devices and music could be heard through stereos and boom boxes as your walking down the street. Nobody worried about the gang each artist reps, or what neighborhood it shines a light on. The biggest change I dislike however, has been the severe lack of DYNASTY level thinking in the music game.
Building the biggest media network in the region is not a small undertaking, so paying a lot of attention to one specific outcome is not going to help that much. THERE COUNTLESS MOVING PARTS TO A SUCCESSFUL ORGANIZATION so don’t ever be afraid to take your time and understand the inner workings as best you possibly can.
ADDICTS DON’T BELONG IN THE INDUSTRY FULL OF ACCESS- due to the extreme schedules. Situations permitting a non stop party and more. A lot of artist end up addicted to mood altering substances to find themselves creatively. When in reality it’s a question of professional strategizing in the form of discretion and maturity that not all artist are going to come equipped with. The excuses and backstories are not justification rather than explanation of lack of intelligence in decision making.
have enough gumption to seriously grab attention in abnormal ways (within reason) if your serious about a life in the entertainment business. for me , its my talkative hyperactivity being used as productively as possible. for most in this generation getting intoxicated in one way or another seems to be the nost important factor. but with actual talent , you must cultivate it however possible. so with that in mind, this journal will be updated periodically with thoughts on my approach and various ideas i hope you can stick into your system and get a more fulfilled artistic existence.
love the people that support you each and every individual one of them. just because theres not alot of fan support starting out, doesnt mean those supportive spirits spirits arent just as important as any other. i honestly prefer smaller showcase crowds because you can build friendships with each fan and make them understand how important their support is to you, as larger crowds take more of a evenly dispersed blanket attitude never addressing anyone individually.
IF YOU FIND SOME USE TO MY RAMBLING TAKE IT! IF NOT DON’T JUDGE! The advice that I give is based on all opinion through education and many years of experience basing my endeavors on passion and love for the regional talent here in the northwest. But for some reason there are audience members and followers that base their entire behavior on hindering or mocking the work of others! Putting negativity out when you want to put positivity out is the dumbest decision of all. Press forward with this one challenge. MAKE POSITIVITY THE GOAL IN ALL THAT YOU DO people depend on me to be vigilant and positive in the pursuit of making my dream into reality. So I fight the good fight and never falter no matter the torturous outcome that seems to chase me…
You can call it whatever helps you sleep but being diligent has made me a factor in a game that I was never meant to succeed in. photography, media presence, music, song writing, stage presence, programming, and much more! All of these things help me to harness my intense passion for art and creativity and bring the world this network!
